Request an official transcript from your previous school.

To be applicable, transfer credits typically must:

  • Be included on an official transcript.
  • Be received from an accredited institution.
  • Have been earned with an acceptable grade.
  • (At Nebraska Methodist College: C- or better at the certificate and undergraduate level or a B at the graduate level.)
  • Either be comparable to what’s required in the curriculum of the school you’re transferring to or be considered an appropriate elective.
Review articulation agreements.

Colleges typically have articulation agreements with various institutions that lay out what credits can be transferred from one college to another. Find out if your previous college has an agreement with Nebraska Methodist College by reviewing our transfer guides.

Request a transcript evaluation.
  • The college you’re transferring to should be able to provide an unofficial evaluation of transfer credits during the application process.
  • Once you're accepted, the registrar's office should complete an official transcript review.
Time for a refresher?
  • If it’s been at least five years since you took a class, you may want to retake it. At NMC, courses older than five years will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • You can audit a course if it’s a class that will be approved for transfer credit, but you want to review the content. You’ll pay 25% of the tuition and sit in on classes without having to take any tests.

Discover specifics about classes that transfer so you can get an idea of where you stand before changing. NMC uses Transferology, a free tool and nationwide network that shows students how coursework from other colleges and universities will transfer.
