Nebraska Methodist College offers free, confidential counseling to all enrolled students. These services are here to help you make adjustments in your academic and personal life. Our licensed onsite counselor is trained to address a variety of issues, including test anxiety, relationships/codependency, stress management, time management, anxiety, substance abuse, depression, grief and loss, family/parenting issues and more.

Strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. No information is released without written authorization from the student. All counseling records are kept separate from other College records and are accessible only by Professional Counseling staff members. However, there are limits to confidentiality. Additionally, a student's counselor may consult with a supervisor and/or other professional counselor for the purpose of providing the best possible service. Please discuss any concerns you have about the confidentiality of counseling with your counselor, that is what she is there for!
Counseling is available to all students who are able to come to campus for their appointments.
Students are encouraged to initiate contact with the counseling office, although referrals can be made by faculty, staff, parents, or concerned friends. All information is kept in the strictest confidence in accordance with the law.

Please do not e-mail confidential information to counselors. E-mail is not secure and can be read in transit by people other than the recipient. Therefore, please use e-mail only to request information about counseling services or for other matters that are not confidential in nature.
Please do not contact counselors by e-mail in case of an emergency requiring immediate action. It cannot be ensured that an email will be read when it is first received. In case of an emergency, please call 911 or go to the closest hospital emergency room.
