Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Guide

Nebraska Methodist College’s 12-month, on-campus accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is for students with a non-nursing degree looking to enter the nursing field quickly.

Graduates prepare to assume careers as competent nurses and healthcare leaders. The success of our Accelerated BSN graduates with state board examinations (NCLEX) is testimony to our student success. NMC’s accelerated nursing program has had a 97% average NCLEX-RN pass rate over the last five years.

Nurses are in demand with a projected growth of six percent from 2021 to 2031, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The median pay for nurses is $77,600 annually
($37.31 per hour).

Admissions Criteria

Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Success in previous math and science courses.
  • Successful completion (C- or above) of the general education prerequisite courses and conferred degree by July before the program starts.
  • Fulfillment of technical standards.

To be considered for admission, students must submit the following items to the Centralized Application Service (NursingCAS):

We strongly suggest you begin working on your application as early as possible and submit it no later than two to three weeks before the deadline. This will allow time for NursingCAS to verify transcripts and other submitted documents.

All transfer credits will be evaluated. 

 

You need to have your prerequisites completed by July 31. If you are accepted into the program, it is contingent upon successful completion (C- or better) of the remaining prerequisites and conferred degree the July before the program starts.

 

*At least one of the two humanities elective courses must be in the arts or human connection distribution area.

**Maximum credit awarded for COM 225/252/262 is two credit hours. Students who transfer in this credit must enroll in COM 252 for one credit.
