General Background
Dr. Kiley Petersmith is the Director of Community Engagement from Nebraska Methodist College. Kiley is adept at relationship building and directing the strategic vision of community partnerships and engagement activities college-wide. She provides oversight for academic, financial, and regulatory operations within the Center for Community Engagement; leads efforts to develop new programs, partnerships, and educational opportunities to enhance the offerings within the Center addressing health equity and community engagement. Kiley began her nursing career in pediatrics serving as nurse in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine before transitioning to academia at her alma mater Nebraska Methodist College. Now, as NMC’s Director of Community Engagement, she advances the mission of the college and the Center for Community Engagement through relationships with signature partners, community organizations, area businesses, and government agencies. Kiley also serves on many boards/coalitions in the community, including Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance, Omaha Public Schools Health Advisory Committee, and various committees within Nebraska Methodist College. She was the co-lead for Nebraskas Nursing Action Coalition and was 1 of 30 individuals in the nation to complete a fellowship program with the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (2019-2021), engaging in policy and leadership initiatives that work to improve social and environmental conditions impacting health
