Academic Skill Building
At times, students may find they need help with their study skills. Through individual consultation with the academic skills specialist, strategies are identified to develop and/or refine the specific skills necessary for a student to enhance his or her academic performance. Typical skills addressed include study skills, writing skills, test taking, goal-setting and time management. Topics related to academic success are also offered regularly in group workshops and/or classroom settings.
Referral information and assistance is also available for assessment of learning disabilities. For further information, please call or e-mail:

Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) at NMC
Instead of requiring extensive course work in writing, Nebraska Methodist College offers a Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program, which integrates skill-building in writing into professional health-care courses. In addition, you can find many writing resources on NMC’s WAC website.
For more information, please e-mail the Director of WAC Dr. Marlin Schaich or call (402) 354-7062.
